Homecourt

Confidence and belief in one's self occurs in a place that is safe and supportive. 

HomeCourt is actually a way of being with others that is respectful and

encouraging. You will feel comfortable to take a risk and grow.

We will discuss who we are, why we act as we do and why we have the relationships we do with our parents and

friends.

I will use the things that you have taught me throughout my life.  17 year old girl

I learned who I really am and (the program) helped me realize what I want and deserve in a relationship.  17 year old girl

I learned so much about life and the anwers to questions I had in relatiohsips.  17 year old

During this time the girls will look at issues they encounter in their adolescent development.  The will check in to see how their day went, discuss possible

issues and various topics that are of interest. Topics discussed may include friendships, peer relationships, body image, diversity, and future career goals.

Special guest speakers will be scheduled for this time.

This part of the afternoon is an integral part of the girls' time at Your Place Afterschool because this where the risks are taken that allow the girls to grow.

This is where she will begin to find her true self.
